The Jade Lotus Master, the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt, the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt, and the Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt whispered amongst themselves. Their faces were pale as they felt uneasy inside. They had no idea how to explain themselves to the Illusionary Ancestor.
They had all sensed her fury. Her terrifying killing intent that could even make the sky pale made them feel like they had been plunged into a cavern of ice.
Even the four of them, Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, experienced such sensations, so the weaker Immortal Exalts on the Jade’s End Heaven had an even more intense experience. Many of the early Immortal Exalts felt like they had been immobilised, restrained in place by an unimaginably powerful force.
The Illusionary Ancestor was truly furious!
“What exactly happened here?”
At this moment, a cold voice rang out. The Illusionary Ancestor had already appeared over the Azure Light Mountain before anyone had noticed. She was dressed in the same black clothes, radiating with terrifying killing intent that could shake the world.
The cauldron that had a hole blasted through it hovered before her. The residue from the failed pill lingered on there.
When the Illusionary Ancestor saw the residue, her cold eyes became even more frigid.
“I-Illusionary Ancestor, we’re not certain about what happened here either, nor did we sense the arrival of any expert. The Azure Light Mountain just ended up like this afterwards,” the Jade Lotus Master said reluctantly with a trembling voice.
“Illusionary Ancestor, the four of us had been guarding the surroundings of the Azure Light Mountain closely. Originally, everything was normal. Nothing had happened, but suddenly, an extremely powerful storm of energy erupted on the Azure Light Mountain…”
“Senior Illusionary Ancestor, we truly did not sense the arrival of any expert. The incident on the Azure Light Mountain even made us wonder if something had gone wrong as the Master of Profound Secrets was refining the ancient pills…”
The Jade Lotus Master, the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt, the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt, and the Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt all spoke up to explain. They all added to the story, telling her what had happened here truthfully.
The Illusionary Ancestor’s icy gaze landed on the four of them. She said coldly, “The four of you are Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts after all. You can be considered as prominent figures who rule over an entire region. The four of you were guarding the Azure Light Mountain together, yet the Azure Light Mountain was still destroyed. If you failed to stop the enemy, then so be it, but you didn’t even catch a glimpse of their shadow. Are you all just trash?”
“Even if it were a peak Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, you should at least know who they were with your cultivation.”
Faced with the Illusionary Ancestor’s fury, the four experts all felt wry inside. They truly had not seen the enemy.
Looking at the four, the Illusionary Ancestor knew that she could not rely on them. Her eyes began to shine as she used her abilities to peer into the past and future, observing what had happened here.

“You’ve destroyed my ancient pills. Are you opposing our Waymight clan?” the Illusionary Ancestor balled her fists and said icily. She did not seem to care too much about the Master of Profound Secrets’ death. She only cared about the cauldron of pills that he was supposed to refine.
“Oh right, Illusionary Ancestor. Before this occurred, fellow Yang Yutian had come to the Azure Light Mountain, but he’s gone now. H-he might have suffered an accident as well,” the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt abruptly said.
When they heard this from the Jade Lotus Master, the Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt and the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt suddenly remembered him. They had almost forgotten about this person.
After all, an Immortal Emperor was not enough for them to care so much. If they had not considered how the Illusionary Ancestor treated him, they would not even bother sparing a glance at such a person.
“What? Yang Yutian was here?” When she heard the name, the Illusionary Ancestor was immediately taken aback. She was overcome with surprise.

The powerful senses of her soul ventured to the very bottom of the pit as if she was trying to analyse the residual violent energy.
When the Illusionary Ancestor shut her eyes and sensed the surroundings, the four experts could not help but look at one another. There was a hint of disbelief in their eyes.
The four of them could clearly sense that when the Illusionary Ancestor learnt that Yang Yutian had been on the Azure Light Mountain earlier, her killing intent had diminished significantly.
They knew exactly how important the pills were to the Illusionary Ancestor. Otherwise, she would not have gone to such great lengths to kill the Starflame Demon Lion.
Now that the pills were destroyed, the Illusionary Ancestor’s fury and killing intent seemed to be enough to devour the entire region. It gave countless people chills.
Yet in the end, the chilling killing intent she gave off subsided with the appearance of someone as insignificant as that?
At that moment, the four experts all thought of Jian Chen, but in the end, they all sighed. After all, in their eyes, Jian Chen had suffered the same fate. He could not have survived the terrifying shockwave.
Over half a minute later, the Illusionary Ancestor finally opened her eyes slowly. Most of the coldness and killing intent in her eyes had subsided. She no longer seemed to possess any of the annihilating fury from before. Instead, her face was replaced with some mixed and conflicted emotions.
It felt like the Illusionary Ancestor was faced with some kind of difficult choice, leaving her wavering and uncertain.
She had already sensed the presence of the Divine Formation of the Heavens. Even though there were some differences from what she had sensed on the Hall Brilliance Heaven, the damage was indeed caused by it.
The Illusionary Ancestor could not help but think of the hint of killing intent Jian Chen had exhibited towards the Master of Profound Secrets. She had sensed it when she was slaying the Starflame Demon Lion.
The Illusionary Ancestor hovered there in silence as her expression changed again and again. Her eyes were very conflicted. It was possible to tell that she was at a crossroad. She knew that she could have prevented or stopped all of this entirely, yet in the end, it led to such a huge loss.
She could go without caring about the Master of Profound Secrets, but she had to care about the cauldron of pills.
