“High Priest, there’s no need to be so formal. Just call me Long Chen.”
With a smile on his face, the High Priest replied, “I can’t do that. You’re the one the Wine God was waiting for, which makes you the master of the Wine God Palace. Someone like me could never call my master by name, right?”
“High Priest, do you really not recognize me?” asked Long Chen.
The High Priest explained, “I am the Wine God’s most loyal servant. Thanks to the Wine God’s favor, law mark, and faith energy, I gained an undying body. The Wine God Palace is always supported by the Wine God’s karmic luck, no matter where we are. As a result, every branch will have an existence like me. So, the person you knew is both me and not me.”
Long Chen was shocked.
“An undying body? So, you mean you are a survivor of the primal chaos era? And you still retained your cultivation base?”
The High Priest nodded.
He said, “Because of the Wine God’s blessing, I was able to resist the flow of time. But having an undying body means my realm is stuck. I can’t get any stronger.”
“So what realm are you at? Are you a Heavenly Sovereign?” Long Chen asked.
The High Priest sighed. “Long ago, there were ten High Priests under the Wine God. Nine of them were Heavenly Sovereigns. I was the weakest, only a half-step Heavenly Sovereign. That’s why I was sent back to protect our legacy. I’ve held on until now!”
The High Priest’s sigh carried both grief and helplessness.

The tower stood at the back of the Wine God Palace, offering a view of the whole palace. Long Chen and the High Priest sat by a window, looking out at the scenery.
Then, the High Priest poured Long Chen a cup of wine.
The wine looked like clear water. Long Chen thanked the High Priest and drank it in one gulp. As soon as it went down, his whole body relaxed and he felt lighter than ever. All his worries faded away.
Wine really was something special. Long Chen doubted that even his medicinal pills could have the same effect.
The High Priest said, “Right now, the Heavenly Daos are split into two sides. One is the original Heavenly Daos of the nine heavens and ten lands, while the other belongs to the outsider devils. Long Chen immediately thought of a name.
“Lord Brahma? That traitor?”
If the High Priest was right, Lord Brahma was the most likely suspect.

“Is there anything we should do to prepare before the great era arrives?” Long Chen asked.
“When the great era comes, karmic luck will erupt and the laws of heaven and earth will change. All we can do is wait for that moment. But before then, we must watch out for a certain person!”
“Who?”
The High Priest solemnly answered, “Lord Brahma!”
